Lighthouse
Today my heart’s boat
floats with its lonely sail
against the twilight sky
as the evening sun surrenders
to the will of
impending darkness;
Now, my heart quivers
for perilous waves
of my furious mind
crash amongst
rocks of desire
in a shoreless ocean
And nighttide threatens
to strike another
wavering boat
with the thunderbolt
Of piercing fear;
I hear my sail
crack and bend
as I furiously row
toward that glimmer
of hope
for I know
His golden gleam
that shines through
grey fogs of doom
and every moonless night
will lead me home-
As my eternal lighthouse.
